2008 NFL Division Predictions

Posted by Mike Scriber on Thursday, July 24, 2008

Well the NFL season is about a month and a half way and football fans have been waiting for this day for months. The season kicks off with the defending Super Bowl Champions New York Giants taking on the Washington Redskins who have recently traded for Jason Taylor.

With this being said it's time for some predictions on who will win each division. Lets start in the AFC.

The AFC East has been dominated by the Patriots and will continue to be dominated by them. I see Buffalo taking second spot ahead of the Jets. To round out the division will be the Miami Dolphins who have a lot of work ahead of them to get out of the basement.

AFC East

  1. New England Patriots

  2. Buffalo Bills

  3. New York Jets

  4. Miami Dolphins

In the North I think Pittsburgh wins the division and Cleveland in a close second. They're to many distractions in Cincinnati and they have no defense but the offense should be able to pull out some wins for them to finish in third, leaving Baltimore in last.

AFC North

  1. Pittsburgh Steelers

  2. Cleveland Browns

  3. Cincinnati Bengals

  4. Baltimore Ravens

Well where to begin in the AFC South. I see this being one of the best division battles this year between the Jaguars and Colts. I see Jacksonville coming out on top in this battle. They have really improved the last couple of years and are a big contender this year. This leaves Indy taking second and Houston/Tennessee to battle it out for third and forth. If Houston stays healthy I think they have a shot at third. They've been showing signs up getting better each year.

AFC South

  1. Jacksonville Jaguars

  2. Indianapolis Colts

  3. Houston Texans

  4. Tennessee Titans

The West is going to be won by the Chargers, no surprise here. If they stay healthy they'll be a dominate team and will make a run for the Super Bowl. This leaves Denver, Oakland and KC to fight for second to fourth.

AFC West

  1. San Diego Charges

  2. Denver Broncos

  3. Oakland Raiders

  4. Kansas City Chiefs

Dallas will yet again be a force in the NFC East and will battle it out with the Giants. The question will still remain can Romo win a Playoff game. I think he does it this year and takes the Cowboys deep into the playoffs.

NFC East

  1. Dallas Cowboys

  2. New York Giants

  3. Philadelphia Eagles

  4. Washington Redskins

Where to begin in the NFC North. Who will Favre play for? Who will have the starters job in Chicago? I have picked the Vikings to finish first and the Pack finishing second. Chicago and Detroit will struggle this year and won't keep up with the Vikings and Pack.

NFC North

  1. Minnesota Vikings

  2. Green Bay Packers

  3. Chicago Bears

  4. Detroit Lions

The Saints will bounce back from an up and down season last year and hopefully Drew Brees has another MVP type season for us Fantasy Owners. I have a feeling Carolina will be on the heels of the Saints. They've revamped the O-Line and picked up Hackett and Muhammad to take the pressure of Steve Smith. All they need is Delhomme to stay healthy and they'll have a good year.

NFC South

  1. New Orleans Saints

  2. Carolina Panthers

  3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

  4. Atlanta Falcons

To close things out the NFC West is the last division and I have Seattle winning with Arizona finishing second. I don't see San Fran making up any ground this year so this leaves them in last and the Rams in third.

NFC West

  1. Seattle Seahawks

  2. Arizona Cardinals

  3. St. Louis Rams

  4. San Francisco 49ers

Good Luck with all your fantasy teams and enjoy the 2008 NFL Season! Please check back at the end of the season for results.
